Title: Thinking of bed lining my jk floor Post by: Dunejk13 on January 28, 2018, 01:04:58 AM Well as most of u know I travel a lot with the dog and well he sheds a lot and I could vacuum my car for 2 hrs
And you would not be able to tell at all lol (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180128/f50d38913fb4d987fc8f5f6c878694db.jpg) So been think of have the floor bed line where all the carpet is or installing the bed rug bedtred floor kit https://www.4wheelparts.com/Interior-Parts-Accessories/BedRug-BedTred-Premium-Floor-Liner-Kit-CBTJK112.aspx?t_c=9&t_s=352&t_pt=3210&t_pn=BEDCBTJK112 So just want to see if any one had done the bed Liner and where they had it done or the bedtred liners or any other ideas Last options was to just pull the carpet out and leave it out Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Title: Re: Thinking of bed lining my jk floor Post by: unl1mtd on January 28, 2018, 06:38:10 AM I wouldn’t pull the carpet. Not sure about the JK but the TJs needed something to help insulate from exhaust heat.
I think a couple members have went the bedrug route, hopefully they chime in. Title: Re: Thinking of bed lining my jk floor Post by: boomertg on January 28, 2018, 09:10:18 AM Not sure where your dog rides in your Jeep but my shed monster gets the whole cargo area with the back seat down. I bought a liner from canvasback.com have been very happy with it and the ease of cleaning up. Unfortunately, some hairs do work their way on to the rear seat carpet.

If your dog rides directly on the floor at times, I'd go with the bed rug....

I took the interior out and prepped it, I'm sure it would be a LOT more if they did all that.... E-mailed the pics to you.... Title: Re: Thinking of bed lining my jk floor Post by: Runner on January 29, 2018, 07:19:02 AM In your case, with the dog, you'll definitely want the BedTred. Although I haven't used BedTred specifically, I just installed my second BedRug set and wouldn't put any other product in my Jeep. The BedRug/BedTred products are top quality, work extremely well, and clean up easily. I've had the BedRug in my LJ soaked on more occasions than I can count, covered in mud, filled with sand, and it still looks (and smells) great. They also come with heat shields, at least the LJ/TJ ones do, which get installed on the transmission tunnel.
Bed lining is certainly an option, but if you go that route you'll still need some sort of mat for the Dog to lay on. A hard hot floor is not the right option for them! Title: Thinking of bed lining my jk floor Post by: Dunejk13 on February 10, 2018, 12:56:40 PM I installed the bedtred man is it nice but now I’m going to need safety goggles when I ride with windows down or top down the hair just blows right out lol

Best decision ever. Insulates a little from heat and sound but its really nice to just be able to spray the thing with a hose and let it drain out.

Seriously, I pulled the carpet in mine and lined it. I don't find it to be all that hot or bothersome, even in the summer, though I'll probably put at least the front carpet back in because it looks better. Maybe just do the back if you can? Title: Re: Thinking of bed lining my jk floor Post by: dave2002ti on February 12, 2018, 10:58:58 AM Shedding? I have a rough collie girl and a smooth collie boy and a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee and we go to our herding lesson every Sat in Goldvein.
I just roll down the windows really push the buttons and close my mouth and let big tufts of fur swirl around and blow out the windows. I think I vacuum it out on Thurs since its supposed to be warm. Fur gets trapped under the front seats and under their crates. I have had a Canvasback for the back and it works great along with the Rugged Ridge slush mats. Kate in her pix has some mud in her coat and(http://) is taking a break after supervising the young herding dogs. She and Drill my smooth boy have been the same color of mud and sheep poop and pee from the tip of thier noses to the tip of their tail. Hopefully I attached the pixs correctly /Users/davidapker/Desktop/20150119_144113.jpg https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=671701919539180&set=t.100000981330313&type=3&size=960%2C720 Dave Apker Title: Re: Thinking of bed lining my jk floor Post by: Dunejk13 on February 12, 2018, 08:30:26 PM Ya I got quoted 650 to have my 2 door lined if I do all the prep

She's 7 and a half and still EXTREMELY active. Just not sure how well she'd do. Title: Re: Thinking of bed lining my jk floor Post by: schreiberaj on February 13, 2018, 11:28:23 AM Ya I got quoted 650 to have my 2 door lined if I do all the prep Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk That's reasonable depending on what the "prep" is. I had to remove my passenger seats, top, carpets, seat belts. If they want you to prep the paint surface by scuffing or sanding then that's a little high in my opinion. Granted I got my tub sprayed in Cali and its a little smaller than yours so maybe it's on the money for the area. Would probably be worth a second quote. Call Line-X in Woodbridge, they are by far the least expensive in the area (i've had a few bumpers and armor pieces quoted and sprayed) but they are always stoned and their prep work sucks. Anyways take their quote and then go back to your local place and just ask them to match it. |
