Nice, I didn't realize how flat the floor is, that should help in replacement. I think I kept the factory center console out of the 71 commando I parted out. If I did and you want it, it's yours. It reminds me of the ones out of the first gen Camaros.

Thanks for the offer. My automatic was a conversion so I don't know if I could even find an OEM auto shifter to put in it. I am probably going to go with an American Shifter Company auto shifter that can be put into the manual shifter spot and it will make it a mechanical linkage to the transmission instead of the cable shifter that's on it now. I'm not a fan of it so far.

The flat floor has been nice to deal with. It's making it easier for my novice welding skills to put new pieces in. Still a lot to do though.
I ordered a brand new wiring harness for the Jeep. It got here yesterday, but I have to finish the floors before I can get to that part.

All the floor boards are in, but there is still a lot of welding left to do. I'll update a pic shortly. Also cleaned up the garage so the wife could get her parking spot back for the winter.

Like I said, still a lot more welding to do.

Been a while since I've posted. It's been a lesson in patience and laziness with this thing. With all the cold weather this year I just didn't want to be out there working on it. Got some more welding done this weekend and I should be pretty close to finishing up. The only thing I have left is the seat supports under the floor that need to be spot welded in. Of course I don't have the seat brackets for the seats themselves so I either need to find them or make some. Most likely I will make some out of angle iron.

Once all that is done, I can move on to the wiring harness. Hopefully that will go a little quicker than the welding.

Also got a new side chick that's been taking a lot of my time. She's agreed to be my right seater once the rig is road ready.

Anytime on the weekends Chris. I'm usually cursing at the Jeep for a couple of hours and need a break anyway.

Parts?  There is a great Commando there. Tempting. I need more garage space and more money.

Thanks for the tip. Too rich for me right now. I have to stay focused on getting this one on the road. I wanted to make it on the road by S&S, but I'm not sure I can make that yet.

It needs to be there. Even if you have to drag it. Wink
