I have a 2017 JKU Rubicon and am building a 5x8 enclosed trailer into a camping RTT trailer and was wondering how well the Rubicon Unlimited tows and, more importantly, stops when towing.  My trailer does not have any brakes so I am a little concerned.  I will be keeping the trailer and tongue weights within the Jeep's limits and will not be going off-road with the trailer.  Does anyone have any helpful information or experience in towing a trailer with a newer JKU Rubicon?

I have a 12' JKU 3.6L Auto with 373's. It tows well. The most weight I have had behind it was an 4dr Elantra GT on a car dolly. (I'd estimate 3500 lbs, @ max 4000, as inside the car was loaded down as well) I ran the mountains on I-68 through WV and MD and had no issues running 70 MPH, it had more to give. Having 4 wheel disc brakes, braking was not a big issue but you need to drive like there is weight there. IMHO I would add the electric brakes to your trailer and put a controller in the JK. It is cheap insurance. Other wise it will tow your trailer well.

Thanks.  That is good news.  I will add the electric brakes eventually but my budget is blown as it is.
