Recycled some old shocks from when I had munch LJ into the rear, ditched the broken sway bar, serviced the diff, and got started busting loose the shackle bolts....and that is the stopping point for the night....

I think I saw a thing, but I don't know what thing I thought I saw.

On Sunday Dain came by with a 6 point 21mm socket and a spare pair of hands. we slapped in the shackle relocator kit, teraflex shackles and called it good. Those leafs are DEAD. Hopefully my guess/calculations are correct and my IRO full length leaf kit will get it right where it needs to be.

Monday, took it on a literal shakedown run across Peter's Mill. All those little rocks will beat lose anything which isn't tied down or up to snuff. Especially on a 30 inch tire. All went well. Ran cool, flexed just fine, and seems ready for the front to be done.

Little update....

Got laid off with zero warning as part of a RIF situation in August. Right around that time the DD car also started being an absolute PITA.

Dribbles to the rescue.....until on a hot day in September the coolant tank got low and sucked an air bubble. She quickly went into pinging/overheat territory but didn't do any serious damage. On and off since she has been used as a DD to keep miles low on the Bimmer.

I just keep putting oil in her and checking the fluids. knocking down 18 combined and 21 on long highway jaunts.

I thought I chucked some axle/carrier bearings in the snow storm last week. NOPE. I have no idea how but the right rear lug nuts had begun working loose. Just enough to make a grumbly noise. So strange.

Anyway, with tax season coming I am hoping I might have enough coming back to me to grab a few bits to continue forward with her.

Maybe a wrenching party as it gets warm in March/April to get the coils and LCAs in the front along with the new track bar and bump stops. Also need to do all the soft brake lines, build the rear spring packs, the drum adjuster hardware, and a tape measure alignment. With a group of two or three competent folks I am sure we can do it in a single session.

After that, exhaust manifold......then a hack n tap sye....then maybe a day on a mountain actually enjoying some wheeling....and my skid kit for the engine....

At this point the only things which need buying are the sye and the brake bits.
