My '13 JKUR has an electrical issue that is more than likely connected to the TIPM problems that plague the JK, but thought I'd see if anyone here has other ideas before i consider taking it to a dealer to have them look at it. My right rear trun signal and brake light do not work. I get a message on the dash every time aI start the Jeep now. It used to be intermittent and for a time would fix itself before going out again. The bulb is fine. There is no visible damage to the inside of either side of the connector. All the wiring that is able to be inspected at the tail light looks good. Thoughts?

Use a multi-meter to check for power at the sockets. attach it to a known ground as well. Grounds cause tons of issues. If that works. I would pull the TPM out and check it for corrosion. I think a lot of the replacements are probally not needed but when the sellership bones you or MOPAR for the parts and money to fix it. It's always an issue. I got hit for $1200 for the TIPM in my Ram last year.

Interesting on WK2 its a recall issue.  Mine was fixed under warranty and Jeep even covered Lindsay Jeep's Service department's screwing the job up w/o any questions.

Lindsay Jeep is maybe 10 minutes from house but I never use them for anything.  I use Safford of Warrenton cause Fair Oaks, Koons, and Farrish aren't any better than Lindsay.

Jeep just replaced the alternator in my 2012 WK2 on Saturday under warranty.

My advice is to get diagnosed and fixed right away.... TIPM really F###s up your Jeep and could stall in the middle of the highway (Happened to my 08)

if it is the TIPM then the symptoms would trickle pretty quick so be careful

Is the TIPM and the ECM the same thing?  The only reason I am asking is because I have been having a disruption around 1500 rpm's where the engine hesitates.  For example, had the A/C on and driving.  Hit the 1500 spot and the car lurched.  The A/C went off for a split second blowing regular air then went right back to A/C.

Nope, TIPM and ECM are two different things.... But that really doesn't sound like either... No Codes popping up?

They're different things I believe. Your issue seems like a wire somewhere or the TIPM (not likely)... when mine was going bad, the AC would work when it felt like it and sometimes never work at all
