Got my new plates in the mail.....only to discover that after having them approved and paid for they decided I was not allowed to have them.  Very Mad

What were you going for that they rejected?

Rewired the Warn control box after having some cables fray. Super easy -- would be curious how a Smitty control box would stack up in terms of user servicability.

Also got some 1/2" pucks for the rear, need to drop the axle to get them in some time (Dain??)

Changed the oil & filter - I considered washing it to remove the mud from the weekend's ride but decided it looked more like Jeep with the mud... Maybe I'll wash it this evening.

How was the ride?  Wish I could have made it.  How was the new lunchbox locker?

The ride was fun - nice weather, great people. The only complaint I have is that it ended too soon  Crying .

The locker worked as advertised, flawlessly - thanks again for your help installing it.

Started to fit the used rock sliders a picked up a few months ago - of course no one knows the brand and I can't find the exact instructions.  I think they are Rusty's or Nate's but have found no pix on the net.  Got the holes drilled on the drivers side.  Going to use 3/8" bolts on the sides going thru the kick plate (use big fender washers or steel flat stock with them) and use probably 5/16" nutserts on the bottom where it connects into the body support channel.  This seems to be what the hole size indicates.  Does this sound about right?

That sounds right from pictures I've seen. Go with the flat stock and use one piece for the whole slider. I've seen people do that and it makes them much stronger.

Can't use one piece as the bolt pattern (5) makes a stretched out "W".  Don't even know if it is worth connecting two of them (or if it's possible).  Need to study it today for inside clearance.  Do you know who stocks nutserts in the Manassas area?

Dain is always a great host, with that said. you are welcome to use my garage/driveway drop your axle. I have all tools you might need. The only thing missing will be Dain's wonderful hospitality.

Open offer...
