It's been a while since I posted here.  My house reno has been a disaster and taken most of my spare time.  Something reminded me of this project this past weekend.  I couldn't remember if I posted this in here, but I don't see it searching so what the heck.

In short, the old half doors on my spamcan were a mess.  The bottom of the frame had completely rusted out and you could literally stick your hand outside through the bottom from the inside of the Jeep.

I looked online and new halfdoor frames were like $90... A new project says I!  I'm not the best welder around, but this isn't something that's structural given what I'm repairing so out comes the welding cart.  I had some old sheet steel that was left over from a parts crate and it looked to be about the right thickness. Grab a Wrench!

I think it turned out halfway decent.  Point being you don't have to be a pro for simple fixes and you don't have to spend $100 on replacements either if you have a few tools or like in my case you live at HBF! Wink

Speaking of HBF...  This was done with ALL HBF tools...including the cheapo flux core welder.

Here's what I started with:

Skin stripped off passenger side:

Driver side almost repaired:

Reskinned and mounted for a nice tight fit again
