.

When I built my XJ, bought everything on the cheap, really... the cheap.  I did it right though, lift, sye, armor everywhere... hell I bought almost everything twice, just to make sure I did it wrong the first time.

Over the next 9 or so months, Iíll be putting mods on a 2014 JKU Rubi sans garage in MA.  First mod was to get a lube locker gasket in the rear and check the gearing,

Now, knowing Iíve got 4.11ís... the plan.

Nice JKU plans. But what are the actual plans for the TJ?  You can always move back to VA. (Hard to believe there are tougher inspections than VA - remind me not to take the CJ to Mass)

MA lift laws are tough... but it is the enforcement at the inspection station that is crazy. Pictures are required and now they are implementing a camera system so the entire inspection will be video taped.  They have also recently changed the lift laws, and there is an exception for lifts on 4x4's... So they have an equation they are supposed to use, but no one knows the equation at the inspection location.

Any way, its a PITA.  Basically, for a JKU max is 3.5-4.2 inches of lift as measured (so another wrinkle)....

For the TJ, I was going all in on new axles, then a little stretch front and back, but then... drive shafts, tow vehicle, trailer, and ending with a non-street legal jeep.  So I would throw a bunch of money into it and not be able to do as much with it.  So, I thought about it and came to the decision that for now, the TJ is just perfect.   I almost fell back into an xj, but the slight improvement in size over a tj just didn't pencil out for me.

So, and I will get more details out soon, I have developed a plan for my JKU.

Hey, and nice to hear from you... Hope things are well!

Got home tonight and decided to just start.  Before, after, .   Ma laws prevent these from being state inspection legal, but the stock flares had to go.  Rear fender flares go on tomorrow... hmmmm, after, snorkel or dual battery setup??

Now you need to trim down that front bumper. Looks like a big handlebar mustache right now.

Snorkel will have to wait for next weekend.  The bumper should show within the next 10-14 days, belly armor is probably about the same... need to go ahead and relocate evap canister and vac pump to their new
Positions ahead of there arrival.  Got a lot done this weekend.  Felt super productive to have planned out the order things went in.

The genesis dual battery setup is stupid nice... easily the nicest packaging of any Jeep product Iíve ever ordered.  The fit and finish as awesome... still, itís gotta work.  Iíll let you know how it handles the winter.

My main goals for this jeep are to go out with my dogs and hike/camp/wheel comfortably, stay MA street legal, go up to 37's, and have enough recovery gear/spare parts that will allow me to start exploring the northeastern US (Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire,
Phase 1 stuff left to receive/install
AEV Snorkel, LOD bumper,  12k winch, MC Evap re-locator, MC Vac pump/Spod Mount, MC Belly Armor, Rigid Fog lights

Holy Crap. What a plan. My bank account was screaming just reading this. I have no suggestions on you plan, so have fun with it.

Oh dam, Iíve been working so much that this has kind of been a mental hobby over the past six months, and finally being able to order stuff has gotten me pretty stoked.

And if Iím able to take the next step, itíll probably mean this will be my last winter with the tj (if not before).
