Took the one side step off. Looks better without both side steps rather than just the one Very Happy

A 3.73 ratio, or 4.10 for that matter, won't cut it with 32-33" tires and the 42RLE automatic.  4.88 is the sweet spot

Bought a turdbox XJ on Sunday. Ordered unit bearings, oil pan gasket, rear main seal, radiator for it that night. Ordered AC compressor, liquid line, filter drier, condenser, idler pulley Monday. Almost like I never got rid of the old turdbox.

I'm not sure why, but when I read this I thought that for us with older Jeeps it's no longer a "Way of Life", but rather "Way of Strife"      Duh

Strife Definition:

1. - an act of contention : fight, struggle .....What I have with the Jeep
2. - exertion or contention for superiority....What I have with my wife
3. - archaic : earnest endeavor....Sometimes yes, and sometimes no

It's hard to miss something directly targeted at you.

The only thing about a Yj that's reliable is its mechanic.

Joey to Mike- That's more like it! Never done.....just outta money at the moment.

You take things to personally. Remember, I used to have a YJ (never on jack stands).

And my CJ8 has been down more than any vehicle I have owned. And I LOVE that Jeep.

My TJ sat on jack stands for a year and has been on and off of them more than any other vehicle I've had. Admittedly, it was abused by the previous owner.  I'd like to say all done, but I know that is not true!

Finally, had to cut them off after this happened when trying to take them off to replace. More details in the build thread.

Loaded the bed of a pickup with two axles, track bar, tie rod, brake lines, gear lube, wheel hubs, steering knuckles and rotors. That plus the TJ took a trip down to Stafford. By 5pm this evening the D35 was off and the D44 was on. Just gotta get him the rear rotors and disc brakes and the rear will be all done.

Got dragged home. The Scrambler died on the road. Initially thought it was out of gas, but it wasnít. After getting home and trouble shooting, the wire from the distributor to the efi had come loose at the distributor, so the fuel pump did not know it was trying to crank so it would not push fuel. Damn. Stupid easy fix. I should have seen that on the side of the road and been on my way.
