Looking for a used 4 door Wrangler

Is there any way to tell if a top is a cheap replacement or a high quality?

Any areas of the top to look at for wear or problems?

Can a soft top Jeep be sent through an automated car wash?

Can a hard top Jeep be sent through an automated car wash?

For car washes, touchless are pretty much fine for any vehicle.  They just spray water and chemicals.  Regardless, I never take my soft top TJ to one, as water winds up spraying inside from a few small openings from the different angled nozzles leaving soap behind.  If you have a soft top, avoid the spinning brush type washes as these will put many fine scratches in your windows and start making them look bad after a while.  You can't just buff them out.  As for the hula type washes, those aren't as bad on soft tops, but they are still adding a few scratches to your windows as they can drag loose grit across the windows.
