Was on a Nova Jeep run last TFT....500+ jeeps... Barely ran across any group on the trails...

7000 ac is a lot of play ground.

I've lead a Group of 15 up there, after the first chaos of getting on the trails, the only other jeeps we ran into were when I was waiting for yellowjacket or took a to short trail and hit my own tail end. Whoopsey.

My concern wasn't the traffic or lack thereof while AT Rausch!  My concern was driving there during a holiday weekend!  Going anywhere during the Summer on a Friday or Saturday is a hassle!  Now, add Labor Day highway traffic to that equation!

Also, I don't know how well I would do on the TRC, but if you need help next year calling and making arrangements for reserving the pavilion, talking with the folks at Rausch, let me know.  I love talking to people!

Made many a run to Rausch on a Friday. I am in King George, not quite the end of the world  but damn close.  I actually run west to Interstate 81 and then north to Rausch on a Friday. yes it adds miles but  it saves hours of DC. Balto  and associated traffic.  If I have to run thru the fore-mentioned, I try to leave on off peak times.   Traveling on the East coast is never a joy, the corridor between  Richmond and  Boston is just stupid  any time.  Heading west of this  major traffic route  tends to make travel a bit less painful. At the end of the day, a little planning and some added patience will yield a good trip to a fun spot.

WE could always  find a new location, Gore or CORP are excellent spots for future  events, but  for the DC types it is still a slog  in traffic to escape the metro area.

I plan on driving up Thursday and wheeling Friday, Saturday and part of Sunday before heading back. makes the trip a bit more worth it.

I feel you driving pain, but truth be told  it is a pain to drive  anywhere  on the East Coast.

Cheers

I just reserved my room at the 2 star Comfort Inn for Friday and Saturday nights.  I will see how early I can get up there on Friday.

Commented on the original post for a sign up.
I'll be reserving a room at the Hampton or Comfort Inn for Friday night.

Camp heap is our largest wheeling event of the year. We typically have 40-50 rigs up at Rausch creek off road park in PA that come together under club trail leads to go play in the park on a saturday usually in late summer. We end the night with food and stories, then have a raffle.

It's a blast.
