Looks like my new ECU won't be showing up until at least Monday, so sadly I won't be able to make it. Hopefully I can catch y'all on a different ride.

Day one of two is in the books.
Special thanks to: Scott, Hiam, Garner and Dave for hitting some crazy trails today.
Crawl Daddy... Yes the CJ topped out, black Jeep an impressive summit, Scott and the killer LJ....and of course the little red Lego block.
Trail 20, 13 and a few others. A great days run.

I hope folks will post the digital evidence here.

Cheers

Day two wrapped up. CJ has some hub issues... Couple broken/missing attachment bolts.  Little red Lego block took some trail massaging... Belly pan needs some kinetic adjustment to clear the exhaust and the rear bushwhacker well, got bushwacked and needs a few new bolts and some gentle massage to get the shape back to spec.

Great day today. Dave got seat time in the CJ and Garner got some time spotting his tank. After a few choice trail challenges and crawler ridge summit a few new bit of knowledge were shared.

Lots of pictures were taken on Saturday. I hope some will be posted.

PS. Assisted in a trail rescue of a Toyota crawler that just wouldn't start. Chaos to the rescue!

Cheers

Had a blast with an impeccable group of jeepers.
Thank you all for the spotting, guides, and advice here and there. I thought everyone really listened and worked well together, and we had some good laughs. I think this was one of my favorite rides yet. Think we all learned a lot, I know I was observing recovery methods I saw rather closely. Looking forward to seeing the crew back together sometime soon.
I have some modifications I need to get installed and tweaked before the upcoming rides, TaTas and Camp Heep.
Have some pictures below... tried to incorporate everyone.

Great weekend, with a great group of people. Hiam & Rob I always enjoy running the trails with you guys. Scott, it was good meeting you, the LJ is one very nice machine. I look forward getting out again with you .

Rob - thank you for letting me drive the Red Lego Block up Crawler Ridge - As I said, driving your rig is like sitting at home in your comfy chair with the air conditioning and your favorite music while playing an "Off-Road" video game. You set back, relax, point it, go and watch the rocks & nature pass by... No engine noise, no bouncing, no rattling/shaking, no steering wheel jerking, no rolling backwards before letting out the clutch - truly a gentleman's ride. Thumbs Up

I have a bunch of pictures and videos to sort through and post.

Until the next time, happy trails.

Day two and a 50% CJ lent itself to some alternate trails. Add it that the request to practice spotting, I think we came up with a new way to teach spotters and add the all important stress level.

A spotters biggest job is....

To keep the driver calm. To  do this the spotter needs to be calm. So the teaching aid was a brand new driver and a nervous owner add to that a semi challenging section of trail that we could run without fear of holding up others.

Spotting practice included backing out of a rather difficult trail that was turning into a stupid rough trail the wounded CJ was going to have issue negotiating.

Discussion lead to equipment... So a seat  or vehicle change was in order for Garner... Conestoga wagon to star wars....part of the demonstration was about selectable locking axles... R3 did get to a spot open on both ends was not enough... Apply the rear locker and idle on...

Garner guided Dave in the CJ up crawler ridge...easy climb but Dave is new to off roading, and Garner is getting his feet wet in spotting...

So yes it was a great day!

Looking forward to the photos Garner.
