Hey guys,

Wasnít really looking to change my TJ, but I stumbled onto a 2015 JK Rubicon 2D, automatic, hard top with 156k miles for $17,500.

Itís a dealership in Fredericksburg so I would think it can be negotiated.

Any opinions on the price?  On the model?

KBB, EsMunds, True Price, etc all go from $16k-$21k with those miles.

From what I have seen that seem high.
I would say 14k

At $14k I would much more interested, but based on all the 2015 2D examples I have found (Sport, Sahara, Rubi, etc) $14k is way low.

I just bought a 2011 Rubi for around that same price 2 months ago and we fought hard for that. If you look online for around that year that is what non Rubi's are going for and you are getting the Penstar. I would jump all over it.

id say 17k is a fair price but hit them in the knees because you're going to pay all the dealer fees.

Any thoughts, opinions, concerns on the fact that it has 156k miles?  I havenít see it, but I have to assume it was a daily driver for someone who commuted 100 miles a day.  Again, like my TJ we would use it 2-3 times per week and within a 10-25 mile range.

156,000 is a lot of miles on a Wrangler, the price might seem pretty good, but I'd still be prepared for the kind of nickle and dime fun that comes with a vehicle of those miles. Alternator, Water Pump, Suspension Bushings and Rubber Hoses of all types are all going to be at the end of their life if they haven't been replaced recently.

Thoughts from the cheap seats... Bring out your popcorn
Used Jeep assuming it is stock (OEM). what are your plans?
I agree with JUKE, lots of miles and lots of annoying things to replace.  If you goal is to build a Jeep then Beat them down on the price and seriously look at your modifications ( both time and cost)  Motor should be in pretty good condition and the trans mostlikly as well. Transfer case chain will need attention.  Suspension if you are going to mod that look at  replacing the control arms  shocks and drive shafts.  If you are going bigger tires  you going to get into gearing might as well go with a selectable locker(s)  if you get serious as well as bigger brakes. Steering  and track bars  up grade all.  and ball joints.

If you go that route you have a  new  rig save for the motor and trans....  Just thoughts from the cheap seats.

I tried to miss you my wife let me have a second Jeep she's not having it right now.
It's a 4-door Rubicon and it has a rebuilt title.

Looks like it is no longer listed. Did someone here pick it up?

So I have avoided driving the hour south to see it so as not to make a silly mistake. My though is that if itís still there later this week and if I like it enough then Iíll make an offer I can live with. $16k Max.

And regarding my plans with it, honestly at the moment I would just lift it and eventually put in 33Ē-35Ē.  For the use I/we give it the Rubi components are enough (for now).  My daughter will be 16 soon and that would be a car she can use to get to HS and soccer practice.  Then we can also go get it dirty 3-4 times a year.  So I donít intend to make it a commuter, but I also donít want to buy a headache.

Again, I have yet to see it and test it.
