NovaJeepers hosts a New To Jeeping Run each year to reach out to the new Jeep Owners, Forum Users and Members that have not spent much if any time on the trails in their Jeep.  This ride is for those that are less experienced, new to the club, and with stock or lightly modified jeeps. We will be providing plenty of instruction and tips for general trail riding throughout the day on one of George Washington National Forest's popular trails, Flagpole.  It is a scenic ride to the top of a mountain with beautiful views.  There are a few technical areas on the trail, all of which can be traversed by stock vehicles.  We will be eating lunch out on the trail at Meadow Knob and should be finishing up around 4pm.  Please bring the family and a camera along for the ride.  Dogs that are sociable are welcome, they must be leashed while out of the vehicle.

You can expect a little mud, some nice rocks suitable for stock jeeps along with some climbs and descents that will have you grinning from ear to ear after you complete them.

Each group will have an experienced leader and tail.  You will be spotted (assisted with advice) on the more technical parts of the trail as needed.

DATE: June 14
Meeting Time: 0900

If I haven't got a watch, I would love to help out in assisting/leading a group. I won't know for certain until the end of May nears.

Either group 1 or group 2.  Group 3 is real easy and is a LOT faster.
Generally group 3 is run by folks who are short on time and need to be back in the DC area to make a show at the Kennnedy Center with the JKU looking good for the valet.
Actually group 3 is more scenic since it has the asphalt Briery Branch and Reddish knob on it along with Flagpole.  The quick run down Kephart is a nice way to end the day.  No mud or puddles deeper than the axles, shorter trip time wise and a bit easier with little or no spotting required anywhere.

I would suggest Group 2 since going up the steps is more fun than going down them.

I am trying to see if the CJ will be in good shape for this. Every time I have been serious about a ride, it breaks and changes my plans.

I am going to request Leads Mids & Tails from TRC to start.  If we end up short (which we always do) I will come back to non TRC volunteers in a few weeks.

We have quite the series of If-Then statements:

If Bombdoguy leads then Renegade3 will go as a mid or tail as needed in his group.
If Renegade3 goes then sticksout will go.
